A fortnight of chocolate-themed indulgence, shared enjoyment, community connection and life-saving impact

Come and immerse yourself in our scrumptious events, with luxury chocolate tastings, an uplifting chocolate & cacao wellness event, competitions, must-see Wonka movies and a free, family-friendly fun afternoon. 

You’ll also discover a tempting shopping trail through Whitby’s festive streets - the perfect chance to find special Christmas gifts (and treat yourself), and warm up with delights from cosy hot chocolate and desserts to hearty chocolate stouts and sophisticated chocolate cocktails.

But it's not just about chocolate. It's about sharing what's best about our community, working together and making something wonderful happen.

This luscious Festival also features opportunities to join free CPR and defibrillator training and gain skills that could help save lives - all while raising funds for Whitby Defibrillator Project, to keep the town's 40 defibrillator units ready for action.

- 2:00pm Talk & Tastings: Health Benefits of Cacao

Liz Cooper has been a registered nutritional therapist since 2010, and is also a breathwork and meditation practitioner, a forest bathing guide and an accredited health coach. Join Liz as she uncovers the health benefits of cacao and why it’s more than just chocolate in this enriching and energising talk on behalf of The Dispensary.

Join Emma Hatchard from The Pot & Pineapple in Whitby for an introduction to an astonishing range of craft, bean-to-bar chocolate flavours and textures.

Browse stalls, have a drink and meet business owners who provide all sorts of chocolate-related products and services in Whitby.

- 3:15pm Immersive Cacao Ceremony

An opportunity for those gathered to take part in the drinking of ceremonial grade cacao, good for both the heart and the spirit, with Daniel O'Connor from Whitby Wellbeing. 

- 3:45pm Break & Browse

Browse stalls, have a drink and meet business owners who provide all sorts of chocolate-related products and services in Whitby.

- 4:00pm Free CPR and Defibrillator training

For all ages: come and learn these life-saving skills as we demonstrate how to find a defibrillator and follow the instructions for using it. You'll also learn how to do chest compressions.

- 4:25 pm Sound Bathing & Chocolate Sampling

Experience this relaxing ceremony with Anna Tennant of Nurturing Rituals, a qualified sound practitioner, mindfulness teacher and sacred ceremony facilitator. She has studied Reiki, reflexology, foraging, herbal tea blending, plant folklore, Tibetan bowls, crystal singing bowls, bio sonic tuning forks and some other things along the way. Nurturing Rituals blends together various techniques to promote relaxation, balance, mindfulness and unlock creativity.

Wednesday 19th November - 'Forget-me-Not' Train Whitby - Middlesbrough

With plenty of chocolates given out along the way! We are so pleased that the Esk Valley Railway is supporting Whitby Defibrillator Project, and this journey would make a lovely afternoon treat as part of a Festival shopping trail.

 

🎁 Forget-Me-Not Dementia Train, for those living with dementia and their carers. A journey through some of the prettiest scenery in the country, following the route of the River Esk for much of its length, passing through verdant farmland, rolling moors and picturesque villages.

⏰ Wednesday 19th November 12:00pm - 3:30pm

The Forget-Me-Not train starts from Whitby Railway Station at 12.00pm, arriving in Middlesbrough at 13.30. The return journey will be 14.04 from Middlesbrough Railway Station, arriving back in Whitby at 15.37. As it is also a normal service train, you can join us at any station along the line.

20th - 28th November - Competitions - Your Turn to Judge!

🎁 Did the judges get it right? Between 25th October and 20th November, businesses will be competing for the coveted titles of Creator of Whitby's Best:

Hot Chocolate
Chocolate Dessert
Chocolate Cocktail
Chocolate Stout

You are invited to make your own judgements and submit your final choices to the poll on our Facebook page, which will be released at the start of the Festival.
